'MedEthio.com - an Ethiopian Medical Directory Website' is the description you find when you open http://medethio.com but we found something more than just a medical directory. We found medical related news, health tips and videos that are very useful for all people working on the medical sector.
After our initial interview with the representatives of the company behind MedEthio.com, we were very happy to see what the new medical related website was going to look like. We tested some of the features that were promised by the company such as, Searching for Clinics and Hospitals in our area which have the specific kind of service or specialist available. Some of the medical specialist names gave us a hard time figuring out what exactly those specialists were working on. So we suggested there should be a way to clarify individual meanings of specialists and some services, which was met by the answer, "there already is a Simple Amharic Medical Dictionary on MedEthio.com which provides description and reference for the general public.

We'll keep you posted after we check out some of the features of the website.

First cash registers and now this? Not quite!
Since there are a couple of things that many people confuse, let's clear those issues first.

1.    Cash registers and fiscal printers are not the same thing and you are not required to buy them both. Both perform the same job, so you will either buy a cash register of a fiscal printer, not both.
2.    Physical printers are not normal printers. When most people start a business,
If your business is in Addis Ababa or any other part of Ethiopia, you must have been told by ERCA to buy a cash register by now. If you’ve just started a new company and you’re thinking about buying a cash register or fiscal printer but don’t know which one to choose, you’ve come to the right place.
This comparison of fiscal printer and cash register is based on price, ease of use and type of business. Let’s right down to it then.Read More

5 years ago most people in Ethiopia didn’t know what cash registers are. We just saw them on movies when the actors go to a super market or a store. We thought it was something that was used just to place money in. Nobody thought it was something that we were going to see in Addis Ababa, or any other part of Ethiopia. But things have changed. Almost all medium and big businesses around Addis Ababa

But i always thought it would be good to find a twitter like website where you get to hear what ethiopians are saying. I wanted to hear what people thought about the weather in Addis Ababa, or their trip to Debre Zeit, or how their weekend in Awassa was, the food they enjoyed in

"First of all, why do we need to search clinics and hospitals. I mean, its not like it's a cafe where we hang around with our friends. We only need clinics or hospitals when we're sick. So why do we need a directory website for clinics and hospitals in addis ababa or any other part of Ethiopia?" I asked.
The representative of the company launching the website gave me an answer with a question, literally! :)
He said 'Do you know which clinics offer 24 hour service, or which ones have specialists and which type of specialists they have. Take Betezata Higher Clinic for example,

I have 3 places in mind. This places have different qualities and it all depends on which qualities you give priority to.

1. Bilos (Zafco Building, Around Global Hotel)
What i like - The cake is so delicious, you'll probably end up eating 2 or 3 cakes. I'm not kidding, it happened to me.
What i don't like - Its a small cake and it might be slightly expensive than another cafes. But for an extra 2 or 3 birr its worth it.

2. Kaldi's Coffee
Its yummy as .. well, what can i say? I guess its yummy as Kald's Teramiso. Its very tasty and delicious. The size isn't that different than Bilos's one but its a bit bigger. Just a bit!
